SCOTLAND

A friend from Scotland is on holiday out here for 4 months. She cracks me the fuck up. So far, my favorite “Scotism” is “I’m feeling delicate” instead of “hung the fuck over”

"To get [Fassbender] out, there was really only one song, so I used to get the sound guy to play it very loud in the studio, just so he’d get his mojo up.  And actually, it was Blurred Lines…" (x)

(via TYWKIWDBI (“Tai-Wiki-Widbee”): Music recorded on xrays)

Before the availability of the tape recorder and during the 1950s, when vinyl was scarce, ingenious Russians began recording banned bootlegged jazz, boogie woogie and rock ‘n’ roll on exposed X-ray film salvaged from hospital waste bins and archives…  "They would cut the X-ray into a crude circle with manicure scissors and use a cigarette to burn a hole," says author Anya von Bremzen. "You’d have Elvis on the lungs, Duke Ellington on Aunt Masha’s brain scan — forbidden Western music captured on the interiors of Soviet citizens."

As childish as it sounds, the winter time and the sight of freshly fallen snow always fill us with inexplicable joy. Perhaps because as children, we associated it with Christmas. I always imagine myself the hero who killed dragons, rescued virgins, and freed the world from evil. As we went out yesterday to find the prisoners, I felt like that little boy who wanted to save the world. But as we returned, I understood that I am part of the evil that I wanted to save us from.
